Welcome to the Zurich Riskathon
We look forward to starting the 2nd Riskathon on Friday, 27 March 2020 at the Impact Hub in Zurich!
A Riskathon® can be described as “bringing together professional risk competencies and enthusiastic young entrepreneurs, so that the young companies can achieve sustainable success”.
The Insurance Institute of Switzerland, which offers usually training in Enterprise Risk Management, is leading through the event and is pleased to have Zurich Insurance Company as a sponsor.
Dealing with risks is in itself an intuitive competence of everyone and part of the daily routine. But as soon as there are too many gut feelings and decisions in a company, things get tricky. The messages about failures in projects, companies and start-ups are therefore fairly widespread and prove that a professional approach would be helpful.
This is where the Riskathon® comes into the picture!
Exactly these two characteristics, intuitive skill enhancement and knowledge about the professional handling of risks are the main features of a Riskathon®.
The Riskathon® is the exclusive platform that enables all participants, students – risk professionals – start-ups, to apply and develop their knowledge about taking risks along the business cases of a start-up.
Thanks to this generic, concentrated practice opportunity, all participants refine their practical skills, support sustainable development and can identify “bias” and risks.
In the entertaining and exciting Riskathon ® event, experience and youth, curiosity and established professionalism, commitment and openness meet. Up-to-date knowledge challenges the communication fluency, and finally business innovation meets sustainable options for action.
There are two categories of participants:
Start-ups: 4-5 start-up participants must want to deal with their risks. The advantage is obvious: those who know their risks make better decisions. So you need openness, curiosity and solution orientation.
Risk Peers: Risk professionals, students, and ERM nerds: they simply have to openly embark on an adventure, because getting to know a start-up, understanding from A-Z what it does and figuring out the risks and suggesting development steps into “risk maturity” can be tricky.
